“America’s Biggest Little Water Park” has announced it will reopen for the first time in roughly 21 months.
SplashDown Beach Water Park in Fishkill will open for the Summer 2021 season on Saturday, May 29.
The water park typically operates from Memorial Day weekend until Labor Day weekend in September. COVID-19 restrictions made reopening last year impossible, though park operators held out hope and remained ready to operate, going so far as announcing safety guidelines and investing, they said, roughly $750,000 in precautionary measures by July.
“We couldn’t be more excited to reopen,” park owner Steve Turk said in a release. “It has been challenging, but we’re ready to bring summer fun back to the Hudson Valley.”
SplashDown Beach is sixth on TripAdvisor’s list of the best water parks in the country, with three of the five in front of it located in Florida.
The water park’s hours are 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. from May 29 through May 31. From June 5 through June 20 the park is open Saturdays and Sundays from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. On June 24, the park opens for daily operation
As hours differ depending on the day, it’s best to keep an eye on SplashDown Beach’s website.
On Tuesday, in an interview with radio station Q92, Turk said the park will be asking patrons to wear masks as much as possible, unless on a waterslide; patrons must practice social distancing; and hand sanitizer stations will be placed around the park.
Season passes and tickets are also available on the SplashDown Beach website, splashdownbeach.com.
